Candidate for City Council Member, Fremont, District 3 · County Field Director

Kathy Kimberlin has been a Fremont resident for more than 40 years and spent 15 years working for Fremont Unified School District. She now serves as Fremont Field Director for Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert, District 1. She co-founded the Tri-City Nonprofit Coalition, served as President of the Fremont Education Foundation, and was past President of the Centerville Business & Community Association. She was appointed to the Fremont City Council's District 3 seat in September 2024.

Positions in brief

Kimberlin has focused on homelessness solutions that combine city, county, and nonprofit collaboration, including support for faith-based service providers.

On the council, Kimberlin voted to remove an 'aiding and abetting' clause from a homeless-encampment ordinance, saying the city had listened to and empathized with community concerns. She has emphasized the role of nonprofit and faith-based organizations that support unhoused residents in ways government cannot.
