Brandon Soublet

Candidate for City Council (At-Large), Emeryville

Brandon Soublet is a public policy analyst with a master's degree from Georgetown University and more than a decade of experience in policy and communications for federal agencies and the private sector. He has deep family roots in Emeryville and is a longtime resident of the city.

Positions in brief

Soublet's platform focuses on housing access, walkable and bike-friendly streets, realistic public safety improvements, and balancing development against corporate interests.

Soublet says he wants to expand housing access so anyone who wants to live in Emeryville can afford to stay, build walkable and bike-friendly streets that protect children and seniors, pursue public safety improvements through stakeholder alignment, and manage land use so that corporate interests don't outweigh residents' needs. He has also raised concerns about the tax impact of a proposed nonprofit hospital project that would be exempt from property taxes.
