Matthew Bryan was born and raised in South Siskiyou County and was a Rotary Youth Exchange Ambassador in Switzerland. He holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Thomas Aquinas College. Since 2016 he has worked as a manager at Mt. Shasta Ski Park and as a California Realtor. He was elected to the Dunsmuir City Council in November 2022 and is listed on the ballot as the incumbent.
