Cheylynda Barnard is a social worker who helps Riverside County residents access social services, with a focus on keeping Moreno Valley seniors cared for and safe. A Moreno Valley resident of 18 years who grew up in the Inland Empire, she earned political science and criminal justice degrees from Cal State San Bernardino. She is Vice President of SEIU Local 721, sits on the board of the Riverside Community Health Foundation, belongs to the Inland Empire Labor Council, and serves on the city's Arts Commission. She was first elected to the City Council in 2022.
