John Pena

Candidate for City Council (At-Large), La Quinta · La Quinta Council Member

John Peña was elected to the La Quinta City Council in 1984 and as mayor in 1988, retiring from public office in December 2002 and returning to the council in 2014. He graduated from Indio High School, attended College of the Desert, and holds a B.A. from Cal State Fullerton and a law degree from Western State University College of Law. He serves on the Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District board and on CVAG and League of California Cities public safety committees.

Past boards include Sunline Transit Agency, CVAG, RCTC, LAFCO, CASA and the JFK Memorial Hospital Board.
