Frank Figueroa
Candidate for Mayor, Coachella · Mayor
Dr. Frank Figueroa has served on the Coachella City Council since 2022 and became mayor in late April 2026, when the council appointed him to fill the vacancy left by Steven Hernandez's resignation. He unsuccessfully challenged Hernandez in the 2024 mayoral race. He describes himself as the son of farmworkers with family roots in the fields around Coachella, and says he followed local headlines and attended city council meetings as a child.
Early priorities reported by NBC Palm Springs include rebuilding public trust through transparency and accountability, improving parks, and a 'Coffee with the Mayor' event.
