Shelley Hasselbrink

Shelley Hasselbrink was first elected to the Los Alamitos City Council in 2014 and has served as mayor in 2017, 2022 and 2025. She chaired the Orange County Fire Authority Board of Directors in 2020 and sits on its Executive Committee and Budget & Finance Committee. She represents Los Alamitos on the Orange County Airport Land Use Commission and serves on the League of California Cities Community Services Policy Committee. She is controller at Mason West, a seismic engineering and fabrication company in Placentia, and has a 35-year career in administration, sales, business development and finance, including roles at CBS Television, WTC Consulting and CI Solutions. She holds a B.S. from the University of Redlands and an MBA from Pepperdine University. She founded the Los Alamitos Community Foundation, is a former president of the Youth Center Board, and has lived in Los Alamitos since 1993.
