Karen Martin has graduate education in urban and regional planning and reports more than 30 years leading planning and policy efforts across California, including coastal development. She moved to Laguna Beach in 1986. According to her candidate statement she has served on Laguna Beach's Open Space Committee, Affordable Housing Task Force, and Housing and Human Services Committee.
