James T. Butts Jr.
Candidate for Mayor, Inglewood · Mayor of Inglewood
James T. Butts Jr. has served as mayor of Inglewood since 2011 and was reelected in 2014, 2018 and 2022, making him the city's longest-tenured mayor. His tenure has included the construction of SoFi Stadium and the Intuit Dome and a surge of development around the stadium district.
Some residents say they have been shut out of decision-making and have not received the economic benefits of the development.
