Trina Swanson

Trina Swanson began her career at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Duluth before earning a law degree and joining U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in Bloomington. She later served in international postings in Germany and Kenya representing the U.S. government, then became USCIS Director of International Operations in Washington, D.C., overseeing offices worldwide for nearly 20 years and receiving two DHS Secretary's Awards. In 2025 she resigned from federal service rather than carry out directives she considered unethical, returned to Minnesota, and opened a law firm.
