Alvarado says fiscal accountability through rigorous audits and transparent budgeting will guide his approach, so that public dollars reach neighborhoods rather than political donors. He has cited conditions on G and H streets as a 'crisis of neglect and inequity' calling for stronger code enforcement, and supports downtown cultural districts and corridors, such as the E Street Cultural Corridor, along with backing for arts institutions like the Garcia Center for the Arts.
