Tiffany Elementary, Bonita Vista Middle School, and Bonita Vista High School. He worked as a congressional staffer for Rep. Juan Vargas, managing constituent casework for California's 52nd Congressional District, and currently works as a health educator. Positions in brief
Martinez centers his platform on utility affordability and oversight of SDG&E, speeding up housing development, and infrastructure investment to address flooding and cross-border pollution.
On utilities, Martinez says working families are being squeezed by rising costs and wants SDG&E to expand income eligibility for its CARE and FERA discount programs, improve outreach, accelerate neighborhood infrastructure upgrades, and expand community solar access for low-income households, while pushing for state-level utility reform and rate-approval transparency. On housing, he wants to cut red tape to speed up development approvals, repurpose empty commercial buildings and vacant malls for housing, and strengthen the San Diego Housing Commission's First-Time Homebuyer Program. He also lists infrastructure investment addressing flooding and cross-border pollution, job opportunities, and education among his priorities.
