James T. Martin

James Martin is a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He was Chief of Staff for National Security Affairs and Executive Secretary in the Office of the Vice President from 2022 to 2025. His campaign says he was selected to command two Coast Guard cutters based in Fort Pierce, Florida, and that his teams seized more than 200 tons of illicit narcotics. According to a profile from the Aspen Security Forum, he served on four ships, including as commanding officer of Coast Guard Cutter Ibis in South Florida. He graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
