Mitch Clemmons
Candidate for U.S. Representative, Congressional District 41
Mitch Clemmons is a plumbing contractor. He also owns a small business. He works in southeast LA County. He has about 30 years in the trade. His materials say he trains workers. They go on to get their own licenses. Some start their own businesses too. He has a high school diploma. It is from Santa Fe High School. He has never held elected office. Clemmons ran for State Senate before. That was District 30, in 2022. He lost to Bob Archuleta, the Democrat. He briefly filed for a House seat too. That was District 38, that same cycle. He later withdrew from that race. In 2026, new maps were drawn. This followed Proposition 50. Clemmons ran in the Republican primary. His district is the new 41st. He won 35.8% of that primary (58,785 votes). He advanced to the general election. His opponent is Linda Sánchez, the Democratic incumbent. His campaign has several endorsers. These include Reform California. Also the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association. Also State Assemblyman Carl DeMaio. Several conservative commentators back him too. So do some voter guides. Occupation: plumbing contractor and small business owner. Prior office: none held. He lost a 2022 bid for State Senate District 30.
