Andrés MarquezIncumbent
Candidate for City Council (At-Large), Cloverdale · Appointed Incumbent
Andres Marquez has more than two decades of experience as a small business owner, having run a painting and general-contracting business in Cloverdale since 2002. He was appointed to fill a vacant Cloverdale City Council seat in early 2025, and was sworn in that February. In mid-2026, the council authorized him to represent Cloverdale in talks on forming a new regional entity, the Alexander Valley Water District.
Positions in brief
Marquez has made downtown revitalization a top priority and has pushed back on city budget plans that project an operating deficit.
Marquez has called revitalizing Cloverdale's downtown corridor one of his first orders of business, backing a city purchase of downtown properties as part of what he described as a long-term plan to extend the town plaza. He was also one of two council members who voted against the city's 2026-27/2027-28 biennial budget, which projects roughly $12.8 million in general fund revenue against about $14.9 million in spending -- an operating deficit of about $2.1 million.
