Chris Parker

Candidate for City Council (At-Large), Cloverdale · Retired Police Chief

Chris Parker is a retired Cloverdale police chief with more than two decades in law enforcement. He spent 14 years with the Cotati Police Department (2001-2015) before moving to the Cloverdale Police Department, where he served for more than ten years and was named police chief in December 2023. Before entering law enforcement, he spent a decade in security management at California's Great America theme park. His last day as Cloverdale police chief was July 29, 2026, after which he filed to run for a seat on the Cloverdale City Council.

Positions in brief

Parker's priorities focus on filling vacant downtown storefronts, keeping up street and facility maintenance, planning for future housing growth, and deciding the future of the police department's facilities.

Drawing on his years working with city leaders and residents as police chief, Parker says he wants to help fill empty downtown storefronts, keep city streets in good repair, plan for the city's future housing growth, and address long-term maintenance needs for city facilities. He has also pointed to decisions about the police department's own facilities -- including whether to build new or upgrade the existing building -- as an area where his background in law enforcement could help guide the city's infrastructure financing choices.
